Wisteria Door
11x14 watercolor by Liana Yarckin
Inspired by a door to a hotel I saw in the Berkshires adjacent to Edith Wharton's home. When you miss your turn, you never know what you may find. I had missed the turn into the Edith Wharton parking lot, so I just took the next turn. Since I was with my agreeable 5 year old, I just hopped out of the car to snap some quick photos of this doorway to a darling little hotel next door. Below is the photo. I changed the placement of the sun in my painting so I could have sunlight on it instead of it being in shadow. It reminds me of doorways one sees in Provence.
Beautiful interpretation of the photo.
ReplyDeleteCarol, thank you. I LOVE all of your gorgeous florals on your website. They are all so pretty I can't pick a favorite. I think they are unique because you have very interesting compositions. It's not just close up of flowers.
